As lake experts, we are frequently asked to assist with drain problems. Many lakes have standpipe drain systems that are decades old and are past their life expectancy. In some cases, we can repair the old standpipe with an aluminum sleeve. A better, more long-term solution is the installation of a siphon drain. Old style trash racks will fail and need to be replaced with new aluminum racks or pyramid rack.
